Q1. Tell us about yourself and the journey that led you to create SACCAHRA Skincare.
Betty Agbarakwe – My skincare journey didn’t begin with products or formulations; it began with people. As a Registered Nurse and midwife, I’ve spent years caring for individuals during moments when they feel physically and emotionally exposed. In those environments, you quickly understand that healing is never just clinical. It requires patience, gentleness, and a deep sense of presence.
Over time, I started to reflect on how that same level of care was missing from the skincare space. There was so much urgency, so much pressure to fix, correct, and perfect. It didn’t feel aligned with what I had learned through healthcare. SACCAHRA came from that quiet tension. I wanted to create something softer, something that allowed people to care for themselves without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. It began as a personal idea but slowly evolved into a brand grounded in nourishment, emotional clarity, and long-term skin wellbeing.
Q2. What inspired the name SACCAHRA, and how does it reflect your philosophy?
Betty Agbarakwe – The name SACCAHRA is inspired by sugarcane, which, for me, represents quiet resilience and natural sweetness. It’s a plant that doesn’t force itself forward, yet it holds strength and nourishment within it. That felt very symbolic of what I wanted the brand to embody.
Skincare, in my view, should work in a similar way. It shouldn’t strip the skin or force immediate results. Instead, it should support, replenish, and strengthen over time. The idea of sweetness here isn’t just physical, it’s emotional. It’s about kindness toward the skin, and by extension, toward yourself. SACCAHRA holds that philosophy at its core.
Q3. How has your medical and nursing background shaped your approach to skincare formulation and safety?
Betty Agbarakwe – My background in healthcare has shaped my thinking far beyond ingredients. It has influenced how I approach care as a whole. Nursing teaches you to observe, to listen, and to understand that every individual responds differently. There is no one-size-fits-all solution.
That mindset translates directly into SACCAHRA. We focus on maintaining the skin’s integrity rather than disrupting it. I’m very conscious of avoiding unnecessary complexity or harsh interventions. In healthcare, you don’t rush healing, you support it. That same principle applies here. Our formulations are designed to work with the skin’s natural rhythm, encouraging balance and resilience over time rather than chasing quick, temporary results.
Q4. SACCAHRA is positioned as a luxury brand. What core values define that identity for you?
Betty Agbarakwe – Luxury, for me, begins with intention. Every product we create must have a clear purpose. Nothing exists simply to fill space or follow a trend. That sense of intention carries through everything we do.
Integrity is equally important. We prioritise ingredients and formulations that respect the skin rather than challenge it. Then there is sensory depth, which is often overlooked. How a product feels, how it settles into the skin, how it engages your senses, all of that matters.
We also move at a very deliberate pace. I don’t believe in rushing creation. Each product is given the time it needs to be right. And ultimately, everything comes back to what I call skin peace. That quiet state where the skin feels balanced, calm, and supported. That, to me, is the highest expression of luxury.
Q5. How would you describe SACCAHRA’s definition of luxury in today’s fast-moving beauty industry?
Betty Agbarakwe – I think luxury today is shifting. It’s no longer about being the loudest or the most visible. It’s about clarity and restraint. It’s about knowing what matters and letting go of what doesn’t.
At SACCAHRA, luxury is something you experience rather than something that is presented loudly. It’s in the way a product feels in your hands, the way it absorbs into your skin, and the moment of stillness it creates. We’re not interested in excess. We’re interested in creating something that feels personal, grounding, and deeply considered.
Q6. Emotional well-being is central to your brand. Why is this connection between skin and emotion so important?
Betty Agbarakwe – Because the skin reflects so much more than what we see on the surface. Stress, fatigue, and emotional strain often show up physically. You can’t separate the two.
SACCAHRA was created with that awareness. Our products are not just about improving the appearance of the skin, they’re about creating a moment of pause. A moment where you can slow down and reconnect with yourself. That emotional layer is essential. Skincare should feel supportive, not demanding. It should allow you to care for yourself without pressure.
Q7. You are preparing for your UK launch. What stage is SACCAHRA currently in?
Betty Agbarakwe – We are currently in the final stages of our pre-launch phase in the UK. It has been a very thoughtful process. We’ve taken our time refining not just the products, but the entire brand experience.
What has been particularly encouraging is the response we’ve received so far. Even before officially launching, our early testers generated organic sales purely through word-of-mouth. That kind of response feels very meaningful because it reflects genuine trust and connection. It reassures me that we are building something that resonates on a deeper level.
Q8. What can consumers expect from your initial product collection?
Betty Agbarakwe – The first collection will be intentionally small. I’ve always believed that it’s better to do a few things well rather than do many things at once.
Each product has been developed to reflect our philosophy of nourishment, balance, and sensory care. The focus is on creating an experience that feels calming and grounding. This is not a fast or overwhelming introduction. It’s a gentle entry into the world of SACCAHRA, where each product has space to be understood and appreciated.
Q9. How do you see SACCAHRA resonating with consumers in the Middle East?
Betty Agbarakwe – The Middle Eastern market has a deep cultural appreciation for beauty rituals and sensory experiences. There is an understanding that beauty is not just functional; it is something to be felt and experienced.
SACCAHRA aligns naturally with that perspective. Our approach is minimal yet refined, and our focus on emotional connection adds another layer to the experience. I believe that our emphasis on ritual, nourishment, and quiet luxury will resonate strongly with consumers in the region.
Q10. Your brand embraces slow creation in a fast industry. What drives that decision?
Betty Agbarakwe – For me, it comes down to staying aligned with purpose. When you move too quickly, it becomes easy to lose clarity. Decisions start to feel reactive rather than intentional.
By moving slowly, we allow space for reflection. We ensure that every product, every decision, feels right. It’s not always the easiest path, especially in an industry that values speed, but it is the one that allows us to remain authentic. And that authenticity is something I’m not willing to compromise.
Q11. What is your long-term vision for SACCAHRA as it expands globally?
Betty Agbarakwe – My vision is to build a brand that grows with integrity. I’m not focused on rapid expansion or constant newness. I’m focused on creating something that lasts.
As we move into global markets, including the Middle East, I want SACCAHRA to remain grounded in its values. Growth, for me, is about depth rather than scale. It’s about creating a meaningful connection with people and maintaining that trust over time.
Q12. Finally, what message would you like to share with those discovering SACCAHRA for the first time?
Betty Agbarakwe – I would want them to know that SACCAHRA is an invitation. An invitation to slow down, to soften, and to care for yourself with intention.
Your skin doesn’t need to be constantly corrected or controlled. It needs support, consistency, and respect. Sometimes the most powerful form of care is the quietest one. And that is the space SACCAHRA is here to hold.
