What first inspired you to step into entrepreneurship, and how did your journey evolve?
Amatallah Alhajji: I became an entrepreneur by chance rather than choice. I have always been intrigued by how ideas become something real, something that people can see, use, and gain.
At the outset, I wasted a lot of time researching various industries. I was interested to know how businesses develop, in which places they have difficulties, and what makes them sustainable. The reason why that phase was significant was that it enabled me to develop a great foundation.
Eventually, I found myself not wanting to stick to one way. I had a desire to create something bigger, something that would expand across the industries and be able to change. That is how my path organically turned into a multi-sector strategy.
You lead businesses across several industries. What is the common thread that connects all your ventures?
Amatallah Alhajji: The shared theme is the notion of creating an ecosystem and not individual businesses. Every field I operate in has a goal towards a bigger picture.
Real estate generates value that is long-term and physical. General trade is flexible and mobile. Perception and visibility are shaped with the help of advertising and media. Connection and engagement are created in events and conferences.
When the combination of these factors occurs, they reinforce one another. The growth will be more stable since it will not rely on a single stream. Rather, it is buttressed by a system of related activities.
Real estate is one of your core sectors. What lessons has it taught you as a business leader?
Amatallah Alhajji: Real estate is a very straightforward way of teaching patience. Projects are long-term and outcomes are seldom quick. You get to know how to plan, how to utilize resources, and how to focus on the long run.
It also educates on discipline. Each choice, be it location or design, is enduring. There is hardly any space to take shortcuts.
These teachings also shape my attitude towards other businesses. I am more long-term oriented and not so short-term oriented. Such an attitude can be used to build more well-built and trustworthy growth.
What key trends do you currently see shaping the real estate market, particularly in the GCC region?
Amatallah Alhajji: The expectations people have towards real estate is evidently changing. It is no longer about buildings or ownership. Individuals are seeking total experiences.
They desire functional spaces, well-designed spaces, and spaces related to their lives. Sustainability is becoming more of an issue as well. There is increased awareness among buyers and investors, and the demand is higher.
The GCC is also experiencing the rise of the concept of destination creation as opposed to individual projects. Residential, commercial, and lifestyle are being integrated more into developments.
You are also deeply involved in events, conferences, and media. How do these sectors complement your business vision?
Amatallah Alhajji: These industries introduce a new form of energy. Real estate is more organized and long-term, whereas events and media are more dynamic and short-term.
They enable us to interact with individuals. We establish forums on which ideas are shared, partnerships are established and opportunities are developed through conferences and events.
Media and branding, however, aid in the formation of the way those ideas are represented and interpreted. They combine to enrich the ecosystem of businesses.
Women-focused initiatives are a significant part of your work. What drives your commitment in this area?
Amatallah Alhajji: I think that helping women is something that can make an indelible mark on society. By providing them with the appropriate opportunities, women serve in the capacity of contributing to the strengths of families, businesses, and communities.
With our events and initiatives, we will be building a platform where women can express themselves, learn and develop. It is not merely the visibility; it is participation that matters.
I have been able to observe the effectiveness of these platforms. Even one event can give confidence and lead to new ways for a person.

Managing multiple industries requires strong coordination. How do you ensure consistency and quality across all sectors?
Amatallah Alhajji: Structure brings about consistency. Every area of the business has its leadership and definite procedures.
Meanwhile, all this is in line with a collective vision. This balance will enable every team to concentrate on its area, but at the same time contribute to the general direction.
Of frequent assessment, too, I believe. The time spent considering performance and revising strategies will assist in quality maintenance. It makes sure that growth is not at the expense of standards.
What does leadership mean to you in a multi-sector organization like yours?
Amatallah Alhajji: The concept of leadership, to me, is responsibility and clarity. It is concerned with leading people and, at the same time, allowing them the room to develop.
This is all the more crucial in a multi-sector organization. Teams require guidance, yet they require faith. Once individuals have the feeling that they are trusted, they become the owners of their work.
My style of leadership is firm yet supportive. It requires transparent expectations, open communication, and respect.
Expanding across the GCC comes with its own complexities. How do you approach growth in different markets?
Amatallah Alhajji: Every market is unique, and the differences should be respected. I take time to get familiar with the environment, the culture, the economy, and the needs of a new region before venturing into it.
The expansion must be considered, rather than hurried. Going too fast may result in errors. An even tenor voice will enable you to develop good bases.
Alliances are also significant. Collaborating with the appropriate individuals in every market contributes to establishing easier and more viable growth.
What have been some of the most challenging moments in your journey, and how did you navigate them?
Amatallah Alhajji: Difficulties are a normal aspect of development. The diversification in terms of sectors and regions is complex. Sometimes the choices are hard, and the results are unknown.
It is significant to remain calm and focused in such moments. I attempt to see challenges as learning opportunities and not obstacles.
The practice will teach you how to take the pressure, how to improvise, and how to go on with the head held high. With time, these obstacles are added to your strength.
Social impact and philanthropy are central to your philosophy. How do you integrate them into your business strategy?
Amatallah Alhajji: In my case, I do not distinguish between social impact and business; it is a subset of business. Each of the undertaken projects has an overall purpose.
This may be in various forms. This might be a community-based real estate, some educational programs, or a community-based event that connects people.
It is aimed at producing something other than financial success. When corporations act in a positive way to society, they establish a better rapport and can be trusted.

Looking ahead, what is your long-term vision for your businesses and your role as a leader?
Amatallah Alhajji: I have a long-term vision of keeping on establishing great, networked businesses that generate sustainable value. I desire to grow more prudently, not overpowering it, but making a difference.
I would also like to continue building avenues that unite people, be it in business, events, or community projects.
Being a leader, I will continue to emphasize clarity, purpose, and consistent growth. Expansion is not the only thing that makes me successful. It is creating something that will not be phased out and will still have a significant impact.
