Dilkush Rizvi on Building Gulf Good News and the Future of Authentic Media

Media Entrepreneur | PR & Branding Strategist | Co-founder, Gulf Good News

Dilkush Rizvi is a Dubai based media entrepreneur, PR and branding strategist, and co-founder of Gulf Good News. She has built a career across public relations, digital marketing, influencer management, and content strategy, working with entrepreneurs and public figures across the UAE. In this interview, she talks about her journey in media, the story behind Gulf Good News, and where she sees branding and communication heading across the region.

You have built an impressive career across media, public relations, marketing, and digital content creation. Can you share your professional journey and what inspired you to pursue this path?

My journey has been built on resilience, passion, and the belief that every story deserves to be heard. Moving to Dubai and building my career independently taught me the value of persistence and self belief. As a woman in media, I have had to earn every opportunity through consistency, hard work, and results. Over the years I have worked across public relations, digital marketing, influencer management, branding, and content strategy with businesses, entrepreneurs, and public figures across the UAE. What inspires me most is helping people build credibility, create meaningful connections, and establish brands that leave a lasting impact.

As the co-founder of Gulf Good News, what inspired the idea behind the platform, and how has it evolved into one of the region’s trusted sources for positive and impactful news?

Gulf Good News was created with a simple yet powerful vision, to celebrate success, innovation, entrepreneurship, and inspiring stories from across the GCC. While much of today’s media focuses on challenges and controversy, we wanted to build a platform that highlights achievements and creates opportunities for people making a positive difference. Today, it has grown into a media platform featuring entrepreneurs, business leaders, artists, and changemakers, with collaborations through podcasts, interviews, business networking, and digital campaigns.

The media industry has undergone tremendous transformation over the past decade. How do you see digital media changing the way brands, businesses, and public figures connect with their audiences?

Digital media has transformed communication from one way broadcasting into meaningful conversations. Today’s audiences value authenticity over perfection. Brands are no longer judged only by their products but by their values, consistency, and the relationships they build. Businesses that embrace storytelling, transparency, and community engagement are the ones creating lasting influence, and digital platforms have made it possible for entrepreneurs and creators to build global audiences without traditional barriers.

With your experience in PR, branding, and celebrity communications, what are the key elements of building a strong personal and corporate brand in today’s highly competitive digital landscape?

A strong brand begins with clarity. You need a clear purpose, a consistent identity, and a genuine story that people can connect with. The key elements are authenticity, consistency, credibility, strategic communication, and long term relationship building. Public relations is no longer just about media coverage, it is about trust. People remember how a brand makes them feel far more than what it sells.

Social media algorithms and AI powered content tools are changing the future of marketing. How do you believe artificial intelligence will reshape content creation, public relations, and media strategy over the next few years?

Artificial intelligence is transforming the speed and efficiency of marketing, but it will never replace human creativity, emotional intelligence, and authentic storytelling. It will help professionals analyze data, personalize campaigns, predict audience behaviour, and automate repetitive tasks. Successful brands will continue to rely on human insight, creativity, and meaningful relationships. I see it as a powerful partner rather than a replacement.

Many businesses struggle to gain meaningful visibility despite investing heavily in marketing. What common mistakes do brands make, and what strategies do you recommend for creating authentic engagement?

Many businesses focus only on selling instead of building relationships. They chase trends instead of creating value. Authentic engagement comes from understanding your audience, delivering consistent content, sharing real stories, and maintaining genuine communication. Visibility is earned through trust, not simply through advertising budgets.

As someone working closely with entrepreneurs, influencers, and business leaders across the GCC, what trends are you currently seeing in the region’s media and marketing ecosystem?

The GCC is becoming one of the world’s fastest growing digital markets, and personal branding is becoming just as important as corporate branding. Short form video, podcasts, founder led storytelling, and community driven marketing are becoming essential. Businesses are increasingly investing in reputation management alongside traditional marketing.

Entrepreneurship comes with both opportunities and challenges. What have been some of the biggest lessons you’ve learned while building Gulf Good News, and how have those experiences shaped your leadership style?

Entrepreneurship has taught me resilience more than anything else. Building a business means facing uncertainty, making difficult decisions, and continuing even when the results aren’t immediate. One of my biggest lessons has been that leadership is about empowering others, building trust, and remaining consistent during challenging times. Every setback has strengthened my vision and made me a more patient, strategic, and adaptable leader.

Looking ahead, what is your vision for Gulf Good News, and what exciting initiatives or projects can your audience look forward to in the coming years?

Our vision is to become one of the GCC’s leading business and lifestyle media platforms, connecting entrepreneurs, investors, creators, and industry leaders. We are expanding our podcast series, business interviews, exclusive media features, strategic brand collaborations, networking events, and international partnerships. Our goal is to create opportunities that inspire growth while celebrating success stories from the region and beyond.

Finally, what advice would you give to aspiring media professionals, content creators, and entrepreneurs who want to build a successful and impactful career in today’s digital world?

Never compare your beginning to someone else’s success. Invest in learning, build genuine relationships, stay consistent, and protect your reputation. Your personal brand is your greatest asset. Opportunities may not come overnight, but consistency always gets noticed. Believe in your vision, even when no one else sees it yet. Every successful career begins with one person choosing not to give up.

In Her Own Words

If she had to define her professional journey in one message, Dilkush Rizvi says it would be this: success is not built by waiting for opportunities, it is built by creating them with courage, consistency, and integrity. As a strong independent woman, she hopes her legacy will be to inspire others to believe that determination has no gender. She wants to be remembered as someone who empowered businesses, amplified meaningful voices, and created platforms that celebrated people making a positive impact in the world.
